Pike County 4H Holding Vidalia Fundraiser, Pike County Extension Office Hosts Free Tree Giveaway, and Register for 4H Summer Camps

ZEBULON - Pike County 4H is holding a vidalia onion fundraiser, Pike County Extension Office is hosting a free tree give away, and registration for 4H summer camps is beginning soon. You can find information about all three events below.

And please note that the Pike County Extension Office has moved to its new location in Meansville at the Chestnut Oak Center (across from Georgia Baptist Children's Home).

4-H Vidalia Onion Fundraiser

Pike County 4-H is holding its annual Vidalia Onion Fundraiser, promoting Georgia's Official State Vegetable, the world-famous Vidalia Onion. The deadline, to preorder your Georgia-grown onions is April 10, 2025. They are sold in 10-pound bags for just $10 and will be ready for pick-up in early May at the Pike County Extension Office in Meansville.

Proceeds from this fundraiser are used to provide 4-H camp scholarships, educational programs, materials, and awards for Pike County 4-H'ers. Call the Extension Office at 770-567-2010 or place your order by emailing: Pike.Extension@uga.edu

Pike County Extension Free Tree Giveaway

The Pike County Extension Office celebrates Earth Day on April 22, 2025, by giving away free trees to children of any age. The Office has partnered with Neighborhood Forest, a non-profit organization, to beautify our neighborhoods, lessen our carbon footprint, and promote environmental education and awareness. Neighborhood Forest donated over 67,000 trees to kids last Earth Day and aims to reach 100,000 this year!

You can register for your tree(s) by visiting: tinyurl.com/PikeTrees2025. The deadline to reserve a tree is March 15, 2025.

Your pre-ordered trees will be ready to be picked up on Earth Day at the Pike County Extension Office! Call the Extension Office at 770-567-2010 or email Pike.Extension@uga.edu if you have any questions.

4-H Summer Camps

Summer is closer than you may think, and that means so are Summer Camp opportunities! Camping with Georgia 4-H offers unique recreational experiences, traditional summer camp fun, and engaging learning activities. Registration is now open to sign up for Pike County’s 4-H Summer Camps.

There are four camps available for any 4th through 12th grade students residing in Pike County. Monthly payment plans are available for cash and check payments.
