Monthly information from Animal Control, Coroner, Fire Department, Grady, Library, Magistrate Court, McIntosh Trail CSB, Planning & Development, Registrar, Superior - Juvenile Court, Tax Assessor, and the Water Authority are included as well.
All five commissioners were present along with County Attorneys Rob and Tom Morton with Rob acting as the Interim County Manager (Interim CM). [Note from the Editor: I was the lone press person present this morning. They were nice enough to brew some coffee and have a biscuit for everyone including me!] The meeting was called to order at 8:43 a.m.

2. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA - (O.C.G A. § 50-14-1 (e) (1))
Chairman Johnson asked that a prayer be added to the agenda at the beginning. Motion to approve. Approved 5-0. Item 2a. was added to include the use of the Courthouse Square by the Montgomery Lodge on Saturday, November 19, 2018 for their annual BBQ. Motion to approve. Approved 5-0.
The meeting began with a prayer by Commissioner James Jenkins.

Motion to approve. Approved 5-0.
3. EXECUTIVE SESSION: 8:47 a.m.
a. Interim County Manager requests Executive Session for discussion or deliberation on the appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal, or periodic evaluation or rating of a county officer or employee as provided in O.C.G.A. § 50-14-3(6) germane to the County Manager position.
Back in Executive Session: 9:57 a.m.
Based on discussion in executive session, the Pike County Commission has decided to hire Mr. James Robert (Bobby) Bickley as the next County Manager. He will receive $72,000 annual salary plus standard Pike County benefits. Motion Tim Daniel. Tim Guy. Motion approved 3-2 with Jenkins and Powers opposed. Bobby Bickley is the new County Manager in Pike County.
