5. APPROVE/ DENY SECOND READING OF THE FY 2021-2022 BUDGET

County Manager Brandon Rogers addressed the Board stating each of them were provided a packet for the second reading of the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 budget. The only change that has been made to the budget since the first reading is the offset of revenue. There is a revenue line item of $348,544.00. The property tax line item is the exact same as last year and there is no increase expected in property taxes this year. Commissioner Jenkins asked why there was an increase in revenues. County Manger Rogers stated the revenue was CARES funds remaining that can be used where needed. Commissioner Jenkins asked if the tax digest would need to be adjusted in the budget. CM Rogers replied yes, once the tax digest is produced the budget will probably have to be adjusted but if the tax digest stays the exact same from last year, then there will be no increase in property taxes. Rogers anticipates the digest coming in more than last year.
