6. ADJOURNMENT

Agenda subject to revision.

Today's meeting was attended by commissioners James Jenkins, Ken Pullin, Tim Guy, Tim Daniel, and Chairman Briar Johnson as well as County Clerk Angela Blount and County Attorney / Manager Rob Morton.

9:02 a.m. The meeting began with a silent invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. The motion was then made to go into Executive Session. The Commissioners and County Clerk went into the back room while County Attorney / Manager Rob Morton remained at the table.

9:22 a.m. County Attorney / Manager Morton went into the back to talk with the Commissioners.

9:43 a.m. Commissioner Tim Daniel had to leave the meeting.

9:47 a.m. The remaining Commissioners came back into regular session.

9:48 a.m. The motion was made to adjourn and approved 4-0.

[Note from the Editor: My only concern with this meeting today was that the livestream wasn't running like it normally is. Many people in the community turned on the YouTube Channel so they could watch this meeting -- even if it was only an Executive Session with no action -- and there was no livestream. How do I know? They contacted me to find out what was going on.

Transparency for our Board of Commissioners is important. I hope that all future meetings will be livestreamed even if it is "just" (fill in the blank here). Everyone can't attend a meeting at 9 a.m. but many were trying to watch today both during and after the meeting.]

The Pike County Board of Commissioners has its own YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@pikecoga where citizens can (normally) watch the meetings both in real time and after the meeting to catch up on county business. Thank you to the Commissioners for providing this service to Pike County citizens.

[Note from the Editor: If you appreciate being able to read information from county meetings for free on Pike County Times, please make a donation to Pike County Times through the PayPal link at the bottom of the page or by check to Pike County Times at PO Box 843, Zebulon so I can justify the amount of time that I am spending away from family. It may not seem like much but sitting in a meeting and then typing it up takes a lot more time than you might imagine! Thanks for reading Pike County's only FREE newspaper.]
