ZEBULON - The Pike County Board of Commissioners announced two finalists for the office of County Manager of Pike County today. This is round number two of the search for County Manager.
The first (in alphbetical order) is Ron E. Alexander from Garden City, Georgia. Ron is the current Planning and Development Director in Garden City, Georgia. More information will be available for him next week after Pike County Times obtains his resume.
The second is James Robert (Bobby) Bickley from Thomaston. Bobby has ties to the banking industry and more specifically to Southcrest Bank. He is also a part of the Smoke on the Water annual BBQ competition. More information will be available for him next week after Pike County Times obtains his resume.
Both candidates were notified of the decision after the Board of Commissioners met last night in a special called meeting.
Pike County has been working through the process to find a County Manager since John Hanson announced his resignation in July. Two final candidates were chosen on September 25, but both Jim Hedges from Ashburn, Georgia and Michelle Irizarry from Auburn, Georgia withdrew their names for county manager for Pike County after taking other positions in neighboring counties. Jim Hedges is now the County Manager in Monroe County, and Michelle Irizarry has been accepted as Assistant County Manager in Spalding County. You can read this article from earlier this month, "Pike County Manager Candidates Both Withdraw Their Applications," by clicking here.
Pursuant to law, the final candidate for the position will be decided after 14 days of this notice, which will be after November 2, 2018.
