Briar Johnson requests Executive Session for discussion or deliberation on the appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal, or periodic evaluation or rating of a county officer or employee as provided in O.C.G.A. § 50-14-3(6) germane to the County Manager position.

They came back in session at 5:32 p.m.

County Attorney Rob Morton asked for a motion to appoint current Building and Grounds Director Brandon Rogers as Interim County Manager with a $1,500 stipend per month in addition to his salary. Motion to approve. Approved 4-0.

He then asked for a motion to authorize the new Interim County Manager to work with County Clerk Angela Blount to get an advertisement to the local organ (the Pike Journal Reporter) for county manager to run for the next two Wednesdays with a deadline of June 26. As long as this is received by Monday, they will make an exception to run this ad. Motion to approve. Approved 4-0.

Rob advised that the meeting on June 30 should have an executive session related to personnel: county manager.

4. ADJOURNMENT

Motion to adjourn. 5:36 p.m.

[Note from the Editor: Pike County Times has obtained information from both Henry County and Garden City on the past county manager and his tenure at each place of employment. It is more than 150 pages and contains information that, if commissioners had been in possession of it prior to his hiring, I seriously doubt that Ron Alexander would have been hired in the first place.]
