BREAKING NEWS: Pike County Election Results - November 2017

ZEBULON - The results of the contested race for Mayor of Molena between Incumbent Jennifer Riggins and Challenger George Ingram has been decided. George won by a vote of 44 to 30. Congratulations to George on winning this race, and thank you to Jennifer for her service as Mayor. George will be sworn into office in January. (Thank you to Molena Clerk Cindy Darsey for contacting me with this information so I did not have to drive all of the way to Molena tonight! Thanks to David Russell for texting me as well!)

These are the results of the Pike County ESPLOST election for a $6 million or for 5 year collection--whichever comes first--that includes new computers and software, heating and cooling systems, kitchen equipment, asphalt for roads and parking lots, auditorium renovations, and buses. (Thank you to Probate Judge Lynn Brandenburg and especially Probate Clerk Sandy Mitchell for faxing the results to Pike County Times tonight!)

The ESPLOST passed with 786 yes votes and 65.34% of the vote. There were 417 no votes that constituted 34.66% of the vote.

Absentee by mail: Yes - 43, No - 44
Provisional: Yes - 1, No - 0.
Absentee in Person/ Early Voting: Yes - 238, No - 124.
Zebulon: Yes - 76, No - 44.
Williamson: Yes - 76, No - 29.
Lifsey Springs: Yes - 30, No 33.
2nd District: Yes - 76, No - 29.
Molena: Yes - 68, No - 44.
Meansville: Yes - 60, No - 16.
Hollonville: Yes - 54, No - 26.
Concord: Yes - 64, No -28.

A total of 1,207 people cast their votes out of 11,263 registered voters in Pike County. That is a 10.72% overall turnout.
