BREAKING NEWS: Election Night Results: Official and Complete

ZEBULON - The Secretary of State's Office verified the election results on the Friday following the June 9, 2020 election. Here are the final numbers as reported by our Board of Elections here in Pike County.

961 people voted early on the machines. 2,444 people voted absentee by mail.

There are 13,125 registered voters in Pike County. 5,527 voters cast their vote in this election. This made for a 42% overall voter turnout for the June 9, 2020 election.

667 voters (86.10%) cast their vote for Joe Biden for president. 4,316 voters (100%) cast their vote for Donald Trump.

In the US Senate Democratic primary, 448 voters (57.81 %) cast their vote for Jon Ossoff.

In the Georgia House District 131 Republican Primary here in Pike County, 3,157 voters (69.75%) cast their votes for Beth Camp with 1,369 voters (30.25%) casting their vote for Kenny Coggins.
According to the Secretary of State's website in Lamar County, 703 voters (63.45%) voted for Beth Camp and 405 voters (36.55%) cast their vote for Kenny Coggins.
According to the Secretary of State's website in Upson County, 1,509 voters (31.34%) voted for Beth Camp with 3,306 (68.66%) casting their vote for Kenny Coggins.

In the District 3 County Commission primary, 343 voters (29.54%) cast their vote for Homer Gibbins, Jr. and 818 voters (70.46%) cast their vote for Jason Proctor.

In the District 4 County Commission primary, 540 voters (43.37%) cast their vote for Tricia Gwyn and 705 voters (56.63%) cast their vote for James Jenkins.

In the Clerk of Superior Court primary, 2,206 voters (48.48%) cast their vote for Rebekah Hanson and 2,344 voters (51.52%) cast their vote for Pam Thompson.

In the Probate Judge primary, 3,208 voters (61.51%) cast their vote for Ginny Blakeney and 2,007 voters (38.49%) cast their vote for Brent Taylor.

In the Board of Education District 4 race, 446 voters (53.22%) cast their vote for Marcie Bradberry and 392 voters (46.78%) cast their vote for Chris Childress.

In the Board of Education District 5 race, 585 voters (66.63%) cast their vote for Denise Burrell and 293 voters (33.37%) cast their vote for Marci Hanson.

Thank you to the Board of Elections and Chief Registrar Lynn Vickers for working together to bring us a fairly smooth primary. Things still ran late, but we were finished long before a neighboring county because Pike County applied to begin the process of opening and running paper absentee ballots through the scanner beginning the morning of the election rather than waiting until 7 p.m. like some chose to do.

Thank you to everyone who had the courage to throw your hat into the ring for office, and thank you to voters for coming out in overwhelming numbers to support your candidates! A 42% turnout was quite good for our area!

ZEBULON - These are the results of the June 9, 2020 election including Presidential and Primary elections that were combined together because of COVID-19. These results will remain unofficial until the Secretary of State's Office reviews and gives the final ok on it later this week.

This is a four (4) year seat currently held Jason Proctor who won this special election in November of 2019 after the unexpected passing of long-time commissioner Tommy Powers. Jason Proctor, Incumbent, qualified for this seat. He was challenged by Homer Gibbins, Jr. Both qualified on the Republican ticket. The winner will take office on January 1, 2021.
