ZEBULON - Less than 5% of Pike County’s voters came out to cast their ballot on the one cent E-SPLOST for the school system.
435 voted in favor of the E-SPLOST, and 361 voted against it. The E-SPLOST passed with a 54.65% to 45.35% final vote.
797 of the 16,419 voters cast their votes. This was a 4.85% turnout.
This E-SPLOST is for the amount of $25.4 million or 5 years, whichever comes first and will fund several projects including traffic for safety and accessibility, purchasing new buses, expanding technology for student learning, upgrading instructional materials, facility upgrades, and conducting essential building repairs and maintenance.
