ZEBULON - This was a three vehicle accident involving five people around 4:33 p.m. today. According to the Pike County Fire Department, an SUV carrying a lawnmower on a trailer was hit head-on by another vehicle on Hwy 19 just south of Smoot's.
As a result of the crash, the SUV rolled off of the road into a ditch. The SUV caught fire, but the people inside of the SUV were able to get out of the vehicle as it was catching fire.
Traffic was stopped for an hour as two people were taken to a Macon hospital by ambulance, two were transported to Spalding Regional by ambulance, and one to Upson Regional by ambulance. There were no life-threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation.

The Sheriff's Office released further information by a press release tonight that advised as follows:
Today at 4:33 P.M., Traffic Investigators responded to the area of Hwy 19 and Sullivan Road, to a three vehicle accident.
It was determined that Megan Reagan of Thomaston, was traveling South on Hwy 19. Ms. Reagan’s vehicle crossed over the center turn lane, into the North bound lanes of travel, striking a second vehicle driven by Tellis Henley of Concord. Ms. Reagan’s vehicle spun into a third vehicle, driven by Lisa Cheek of Williamson.
Ms. Reagan and her one year old son were transported to Macon Medical Center. Mr. Henley and a passenger were transported to Spalding Regional Hospital. Ms. Cheek was transported to Upson Regional Hospital.
This investigation is ongoing into the cause of this accident.
