Hanna’s Shabby from the Heart Is Open for Business
By Editor Becky Watts

CONCORD - How many 11th graders do you know that are running their own business? There is a new furniture and boutique shop in Concord that fits the bill, and it has a little of everything for everyone from t-shirts to furniture to attire for your little princess. Hanna’s Shabby from the Heart is located at 9560 Highway 18 in Concord, and Hanna Guy would love for you to stop by!

Hanna's business location has only been open for a month, but she has been distressing furniture for two years. Repainting and making a piece look antique is hard work! There are items from many people in the community as well with wreaths and hand-made wood items that customers can take home with them. There is painted and unpainted furniture that can be bought as it is or can be custom painted. Women and children’s boutique clothing is also available along with hand-made jewelry, bags, home goods, bath salts, children’s bows, and t-shirts that can be lettered according to your needs.

Hanna’s Mom, Michelle, is also involved in the business. Her part of the business is called Burlap and Glitter: Vinyl Creations. Michelle puts vinyl lettering on t-shirts, stockings, mugs, etc. Meredith Cuviello makes the wreaths that are for sale in the business.

Hanna has even trademarked a t-shirt design that features Pike County. The design shows the Simply Pike logo and background of our county and can even have a fish or a deer on it to show your favorite past-time. This includes soccer, baseball, cheerleadering, sewing or whatever your individual interests!

Michelle said that is a community effort with items for sale from many local vendors. She also said that they make an effort not to duplicate what anyone else is selling so there is a variety of items for sale and something for everyone.

“This is a family oriented and Christ-based business,” Michelle said. It is also a place where they want people to feel at home when they visit. The comfortable couch in the front room is a big help for this. Visitors can sit and talk or your significant other can rest for a few minutes while you get some last minute shopping done!

Hanna’s Shabby from the Heart is located at 9560 Highway 18 in Concord and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays. 770-550-2477. hanna_guy47@yahoo.com.

Drop by and see what they have to offer. Please tell Hanna and Michelle that you read about Hanna’s Shabby from the Heart on Pike County Times!
