ZEBULON - PCREA, Pike County Retired Educators Association, held the meeting for March on the 25th, 2025. There were 22 members present. President Diane Beres called the meeting to order. Jamie Crawford gave a beautiful devotional concerning the WIND. Barbara Messer previously sent the MINUTES from the last meeting by e-mail. Judy Turpin gave the TREASURER'S REPORT.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
SCHOLARSHIP
Brenda Mathis reported there were 3 scholarship applicants this year. PCREA is so pleased these seniors have applied and plan to go in to the education field.
GREA, Georgia Retired Educators Association, will hold it's statewide convention in May. Members of PCREA will attend.
A nominating committee was chosen at last month's meeting to help select candidates for Officers for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The new officers will be sworn in at the April meeting.
As the 2024 - 2025 school year is ending soon some teachers may be retiring. Hopefully some of these folks will become members of PCREA. Pike County Board of Education will hold a meeting on May 13, 2025 when these teachers will be recognized.

GUEST SPEAKER
The guest speaker this meeting was Mr. Shane Williamson Superintendent of Pike County Schools.
Mr. Williamson shared so much information. He gave out booklets that outlined the Mid-Year State of the Schools 2024 - 2025 with Strategic Plan Overview for all schools and school related departments in Pike County.
