Absentee Ballot Applications Needed
By Guest Columnist Voter Registrar Sandi Chamblin

ZEBULON - As a new election year is upon us, we must start a new absentee ballot list. Any voters being 75 years or older, disabled or in the military need to contact this office for new absentee ballot applications. These applications will be good for all elections held in 2014. I do not have a roll over list so we are asking for your help in getting ready for the upcoming elections.

If you have family members that are in the military or that need absentee ballots, please contact the Pike County Registrar's Office so we can get applications filled out for those ballots. Any family member can fill out an application for any immediate family member that is a registered voter that is eligible to receive an absentee ballot including those (1) over the age of 75, (2) disabled, (3) in the military, whether they are overseas or serving stateside, or (4) if a family member works or is going to school in another state.

You can call our office at 770-567-2003 and request an application or stop by our office, located in the courthouse, and fill out an application for your loved one.

Absentee voting begins on April 4, 2014 and advance voting begins on April 28, 2014. The last day to register to vote is April 21, 2014.
