ZEBULON - The Pike County Sheriff's Office was recognized by District Attorney Scott Ballard as the Griffin Judicial Circuit's Agency of the Year at the annual law enforcement appreciation banquet this week. This marks the second year in a row that Pike County has won this award.
The banquest was held in Fayette County and attended by numeours representatives of the various law enforcement agencies that make up the Griffin Judicial Circuit. Sheriff Jimmy Thomas was on hand the receive the award from District Attorney Scott Ballard.
"The credit goes to the employees of the Pike County Sheriff's Office who have consistantly gone above and beyond their normal duties," said Sheriff Thomas. "Most of the employees take on additional responsibilities without additional pay. That speaks volumes to their character and dedication to the citizens of Pike County."
