Pike County Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Bomb Threats

Pike County Sheriff's Office Investigators have arrested Thomas Montgomery, 39 years of age, in regards to the recent rash of bomb threats that were made towards the court house.

Montgomery has been using various cell phones to call in the threats. Investigators conducted a search of his residence and vehicle during which numerous cell phones were recovered and taken for further analysis. In addition, a hand held radio was recovered that had local emergency frequencies programmed into it.

During this investigation, it was also learned that he had impersonated a fireman on at least one occasion at a motor vehicle accident scene in Zebulon.

Upon being interviewed by investigators, Montgomery confessed to making multiple bomb threats and impersonating a fireman. He is currently on probation after having served a prison sentence for also making bomb threats against the court house in Bartow County in 2004.

The investigation into his activities will continue as he is also suspected in other bomb threat calls that have occurred in Upson County and against the school system in Pike County dating back to last year.

A bond has yet to be set in this case and he is currently in the Pike County Jail.
