ZEBULON - Sheriff Jimmy Thomas states that on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 the Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a blue Chrysler Pacifica traveling northbound on Highway 19 in the southbound lanes. Deputies were able to intercept the vehicle on Highway 19 North near United Bank and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Clayton County.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and a chase ensued. The chase ended at the intersection of Drew Allen and Reidsboro Roads when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and wrecked. The suspect’s vehicle caught fire due to damages caused in the accident. The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot and was apprehended by deputies after a brief foot chase.
The suspect Alvin Dennis Wix, Jr. is facing multiple charges including but not limited to: Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Felony Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement. There was also an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation.
