GRIFFIN - Griffin Choral Arts Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Stephen J. Mulder, will present a choral concert entitled “Longing and a Summer Walk: Songs of Nature, Love, and Devotion” on Sunday, July 20, at 3:00 PM at St. George’s Episcopal Church (132 North Tenth Street, Griffin).
The Griffin Choral Arts Chamber Choir is an elite group of 18 singers (10 men and 8 women) who were invited by Dr. Mulder to perform this special summer concert. “As I selected the repertoire for this program,” Dr. Mulder explained, “I wanted to present a narrative of themes that are personal and at the same time universal. For many, summer provides a change of routine, vacation time, and opportunities for travel and perhaps solitude. Given time to reflect, a change of scenery, and presented with the natural beauty that surrounds us in the summer months, I felt this program emerge: Longing--Songs of Nature, Love, and Devotion.”
Tickets for this concert are $10 general admission (all ages) and only available at Artistic Flowers and Gifts (610 W. Solomon St.) during regular business hours until Saturday or at the door on Sunday, July 20.
Griffin Choral Arts is composed of 50 singers from all over the region, many of whom are music teachers at the elementary, middle, secondary, or college level. The mission of Griffin Choral Arts is to bring “the best choral music to the community.”
