Disaster Response Meeting to be Held

CONCORD - On May 24th at 7pm the Pike County's Citizens Organization Active in Disasters (COAD) will be meeting again. During this meeting we will announce and/or plan dates for the following: community first aid classes, citizen emergency response training (CERT program), and training from the Red Cross on shelter management.

We will also hear from the different local organizations on what opportunities are available through them to assist Pike County residents during times of disasters. We will be discussing what other training or information the group would like to receive for their organization, and we will set a schedule for future meetings.

All faith-based, service and social organizations are welcome. Pike County EMA encourages all organizations to send a couple representatives to this meeting. COAD will be held at 7 pm at the Strickland Building in Concord on May 24th.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no discussion of the EMA ordinance from the May 9, 2012 commissioner meeting at this disaster response meeting. This is a meeting where EMA is working with the community to set plans in place to help our community in case of a disaster.
