ZEBULON - 34 applications were received by the Pike County Board of Commissioners for the open position of County Manager by the deadline. "We have identified applicants for initial interviews," said Interim County Manager/County Attorney Rob Morton.
Once initial interviews are completed, additional interviews will be considered and then the Board of Commissioners will identify finalists for the County Manager position. All finalists will be notified and given the opportunity to continue or withdraw from the process. The Board of Commissioners will release the names of the finalists to the public at this point.
Under the Open Records and Meeting Laws, also known as the Sunshine Laws, no final decision will be made on the new County Manager until 14 days have passed. "I do not expect this [the finalists to be identified] prior to mid August or the August," said Mr. Morton.
