Mack Crawford for Superior Court Judge in the Griffin Judicial Circuit

ZEBULON - Superior Court Judge Mack Crawford of the Griffin Judicial Circuit (Fayette, Pike, Spalding and Upson Counties) is pleased to announce that he is seeking re-election on the May 24,2016 Ballot.

Mack Crawford is a life long resident of Pike County having dedicated his adult life to public service in Middle Georgia, beginning as Chairman of the Pike County Industrial Authority. He grew up on a farm in Concord and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, University of Georgia in Athens, and Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta. After law school, he returned to Zebulon and opened a law practice staying active in Georgia and American Farmer Bureau where he served in numerous state and national positions concerning policy development matters pertaining to agriculture.

In the Fall of 1992, Mack was elected to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives serving the people of Pike and Upson Counties, and after re-apportionment of the district, he served Lamar County as well. While serving in the House, he served on the Agricultural Committee, Judiciary Committee, Appropriations Committee, Public Defenders and Oversight Committees. He was Chairman of the Appropriations Committee for the Judiciary and Public Safety sub-committee.

In the summer of 2007, Mack was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue as Director of the Public Defenders Council managing the agency which comprised handling of approximately 90,000 criminal cases annually and working with all of the Superior Court Judges in the State.

In the summer of 2010, Governor Perdue appointed Mack to the position of Judge of the Superior Court of the Griffin Judicial Circuit where he has served for the past six years. In this position he has maintained his office in the Upson and Pike County Courthouses. Judge Crawford has handled hundreds of felony criminal cases and hundreds of civil cases from adoptions to major complex business litigation.

Judge Crawford serves on the elite legislative team with the Council of Superior Court Judges which works with the Governor and the legislature drafting legislation that affects everyone in the State.

Mack Crawford and his wife, Jamie, live in Concord and have two adult children. Jamie is an elementary school teacher in the Pike County Elementary School. This December, Mack and Jamie will have been married forty years.
