Middle Georgia Community Action Agency Heating Assistance Available

ZEBULON - There is heating assistance available through the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency. Appointments will be made by PHONE ONLY.

We will begin scheduling appointments in Pike County for the households in which all members are Homebound and/or Elderly (65 years of age or older) on November 3, 2014 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. General Public scheduling will be advertised at a later date.

To be eligible for assistance, households must have an income at or below 60 percent of the state median income level:
$ 21,180 - one-person household
$ 27,697 - two-person household
$ 34,212 - three-person household
$ 40,731 - four-person household
$ 47,248 - five-person household
$ 53,765 - six-person household
$ 54,987 - seven-person household
$ 56,209 eight-person household

Applicants should have proof of income for the last 30 days for all household members. This proof may be a paycheck stub, or a letter granting public assistance, Social Security, or unemployment benefits. Applicants must also have a picture ID, social security cards of all household members (proof of age will also need to be provided during the month of November), and their most recent heating bill. Applicants will also be required to sign a citizenship affidavit proving they are a U.S. Citizen. Additional documentation may be required at time of appointment.

Households whose fuel costs are included in their rent are NOT eligible for assistance.
