ZEBULON - A call went out to Pike County Emergency Services to respond to a fire at 11:52 a.m. The fire was in a home that was located at 5832 Hwy 19 South located between Sullivan and Cook Roads.
The Zebulon (Station 7), Lifsey Springs (Station 3), Meansville (Station 4), and 2nd District (Station 8) fire stations rolled out equipment and personnel to respond to the emergency call. 19 volunteer fire fighters responded from different parts of the county to help put out the fire.
The home was fully engulfed when fire fighters responded, and it took the combined efforts of those on the scene to put the fire out over the next several hours. The call was officially ended at 3:20 p.m.
A representative of the Georgia Three Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross advised that food, clothing, and housing provisions were given to help those who were affected by the loss of their home.
