John Hanson Named Finalist for County Manager

ZEBULON - In a 5-0 vote tonight, Pike resident John A. Hanson was named the finalist for county manager by the Pike County Commissioners. There will be 14 days for investigation and discussion before the final appointment is made.

Mr. Hanson cited 14 years of experience in the banking and finance industry as well as his experience as a proven manager of a loan portfolio of over $30MM while working handling leadership responsibilities. His resume states that he enjoys working with people at all levels and "is inspired by character and performance with the ability to build relationships while focusing on professional goals."

According to John's resume, he has been the Vice President of West Central Georgia Bank from 2009 to present, was Vice President of United Bank from 2007 to 2009, was Sales Manager of Cornerstone Communications in Zebulon from 2004 to 2007, and was Assistant Vice President of United Bank from 1996 to 2004. He received his education from The University of Georgia School of Banking and Mercer University in Macon.

His civil activities are as follows: He was on the Pike County Parks and Recreation Authority Board Member (his term ended on June 30 so he is no longer on this board), is currently a Boys & Girls Club of West Georgia-Pike County Board Member, is currently a United Way Thomaston/Upson Board Member, is currently the Assistant Coach of the Pike County High School Baseball Team, and has served as the former President of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.

Best of luck to John Hanson and Pike County government as we prepare to move ahead together with a new County Manager! Look for the new County Manager to be named at the next county meeting on September 11.
