Four Perpetrators in Custody for Home Invasion

GRIFFIN - Griffin Police Department Uniform Patrol Division responded to a call at approximately 1:09 pm on March 15, 2018 of a home invasion in progress. Officers made contact at the residence with the victim, while other officers saturated the area. Officers spotted the perpetrators fleeing the area of Powers Court subdivision. Officers from the Criminal Investigative Division (CID), Special Investigative Unit (SIU), K9 Officers from the C.A.G.E. unit, and deputies from Spalding County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the immediate area to assist in the apprehension of the perpetrators.

The K9 officers from the Griffin C.A.G.E. unit activated their K9’s in the area and were able to track and apprehend two of the perpetrators in the thick brush between subdivisions in the area. A third perpetrator was apprehended by Griffin CID Investigators while waiting in a “get-a-way” vehicle at the dead end of Petticoat Ln. Griffin CID Investigators contacted a fourth perpetrator late in the evening. That perpetrator agreed to come to the Police Department. The perpetrator was subsequently arrested and charged.

Kendrell Bryon Joseph of Griffin, Ericka Nada Thomas of McDonough, and two juveniles are being held on charges of Armed Robbery. The two juveniles are being charged as an adult due to the circumstances surrounding this case. Items recovered in this case included a stolen handgun used during the commission of the crime. More charges are pending and this is considered to be an ongoing investigation.

The Griffin Police Department would like to thank everyone involved in helping with the apprehension of these individuals.
