ZEBULON - The 39th Annual Concord Jubilee will be held on Saturday, October 20th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 21st from 10 am until 5 p.m. The Concord Jubilee will kick off with the Fourth Annual John Hollis Memorial 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk at 9 a.m. on Saturday and rolls through Sunday evening. Games, entertainment, food, a petting zoo and a whole lot more will be a part of the festivities.
Saturday will be begin early with the 4th Annual John Hollis Memorial 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk. Registration begins at 8 with the walk and 5K beginning at 9 a.m. Click here for a race application. Print it out and bring it with you on Saturday. And there is still time to be a sponsor for the race. Click here to become a race sponsor. Sign up will be held in Concord, Georgia on Hill Street (Behind City Hall).
The parade will be a 2 pm on Saturday. Call Anita Neath at Concord City Hall (770) 884-5221 if you want to be in the parade. Line-up will be at the intersection of Concord Road and Strickland Road near Magnolia Farms.
Live entertainment begins at 11 am on Saturday with Bonnie Ridge Bluegrass, Pike County Jr. Players, Gospel Gazette, The Wranglers & Rhythm Masters and at noon on Sunday with Men of Mt. Olive, The Bluegrass Ramblers & Harold Kirkland & Friends.
On Sunday, the community church service will be held at 9 a.m. with the combined service sponsored by both the Concord United Methodist and Concord Baptist Churches. This will be held on the entertainment stage behind Concord Cafe. Chris Watson, Harps Crossing Baptist Church and Hollonville, will be preaching with Ric & Valerie Calhoun leading music. Concord United Methodist Church will be hosting a breakfast between 7:00 - 9:30 on Saturday morning. Plates are $5.00 for a great country breakfast!
Admission and parking are free. Come out and enjoy a day of festivities and fun while catching up with people from around the county that you haven't seen in a while. It's a time for families and friends and spend time together and take a break from our normal fast-paced living too.
