New Fall Line-up at the Library

The J. Joel Edwards Public Library announces its fall programs, all free and open to the public. In an effort to provide a variety of both fun and educational programs, the library is pleased to be able to offer innovative programs for patrons of all ages.

Preschool Story Time meets every Tuesday at 11:00. Children ages 3 and up are invited to join Miss Kim for stories, songs, games, and crafts.

Each Saturday of the month is dedicated to specialized programs. All of these programs begin at 1:00 and are free and open to the public. Registration is not required but can be helpful to make sure we have plenty space and supplies.

Do-It-Yourself projects have received heightened awareness with the introduction of websites such as Pinterest and Etsy. Bre Richard now offers on the first Saturday of the month a DIY class. Check with the library to see what project she will present and get a list of any materials you might need to bring.

Beginning Computer classes are offered on the second Saturday of the month. Kim Mason offers a non-threatening approach to computer technology with instruction on the basics of internet and Office 2010. The class on September 13 will focus on internet security and computer maintenance.

Genealogy classes are offered on the third Saturday of the month. Join Mitch Morris to learn how to research your family history by using both internet sources and library materials. His first class will be held in the Georgia Room on September 20.

Dance class returns on the fourth Saturday of the month. Regardless of your skill level, you are sure to have a good time “tripping the light fantastic.” Join manager Rosemary Bunn on September 27 as she reintroduces the popular shim sham.

For more information on these and other library offerings please visit the library during regular business hours: MWF 10-5, TTh 10-7, and Sat. 10-3.
