Pike County will soon have a new All-Star Cheerleading and tumbling gym. The Mid-GA Hurricanes will be open for business on April 14. The business is located at 2810 Carver Road, Griffin, GA. The gym, which is owned by Ron and April Byrd, will feature new equipment and state of the art technology as well as certified instructors.
Ron and April are no strangers to the cheerleading world or business ownership. Their children, Savannah and McKenzie, have cheered competitively for the last three years and both attend Pike County Middle School. Ron has been in business ownership for the last 20 years, and April is in her 8th year as a School Board Member for the Pike County School System.
An open gym will be held on April 14 and April 21 from 9-11 am and 1-3 pm. If your child would like to participate in tumbling that day the cost will be $5.00 per child. There will be certified instructors there to work with the kids those days.
They will also be holding an open house on April 28 from 11-2.
All-star Cheerleading Tryouts will be held on May 5th at the following times: 9 am for ages 8 and under and 11 am for ages 9 and up. Anyone wishing to tryout must complete a Tryout form, Registration form and Medical Release (if not already completed) and bring with them on that date.
