Love Shown for Super Ty at "Believing in a Miracle for Ty" Event

THOMASTON - There was a benefit for "Super Ty" (Ross) on Saturday, August 3, 2012 at Bickley's Lake in Thomaston. People came from far and wide to participate in a 5K run in the Industrial Park, a Poker Run, corn hole tournament, fishing derby, cake walk, car and motorcycle show, kids' zone, silent auction and drawing for prizes, a 50/50 drawing, live entertainment, and much, much more!

Super Ty was diagnosed with JMML, a rare form of leukemia that attacks mostly children under the age of 4. The survival rate is about 50% without a bone marrow transplant. Ty received his first transplant in May of 2011. In April of 2012, the JMML returned with a vengeance. Ty had his 2nd transplant on June 18th and is currently undergoing treatment related to his bone marrow transplant. Click here and click here to read more about Ty.

$8,000 was raised at Super Ty's benefit! Thanks to all who helped organize this event and all who were a part of these festivities. Donations can still be made to Ty Ross through the Superty website or at any United Bank location. Donations will have to be made to Ty Ross Benefit c/o John or Julie Yarbrough.

Click here to see more pictures from the event. All proceeds from picture sales from "Believing in a Miracle for Ty" will be donated to Ty Ross.
