MOLENA - Pike County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress call this morning shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Sands Road in Molena.
The caller stated that she had heard someone try to come in the back door to her residence during which time she fled to a neighbor's house to call 911. The neighbor went to her residence to confront the suspect and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
Upon arrival, Pike County Deputies arrested Pike resident Scotty Oneal, 37 years of age. Oneal was not to believed to have randomly targeted the residence because he was known to the victims as an acquaintance of the family.
Oneal is currently in the Pike County Jail for Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and an outstanding Violation of Probation warrant.
