Just before 12:30 yesterday afternoon, crews from Pike County Emergency Services (PCES) were dispatched to a structure fire on Garland Street in Molena. At the time of dispatch, flames were already showing at the structure.
When personnel arrived, the home was fully involved with heavy flames all around. Volunteer fire personnel with PCES set up their equipment and began to work on putting out the structure fire.
"Due to the damage and no threats to life, a defensive posture was chosen," said PCES Chief Randy Snyder. The home was a total loss. "As I often say, the nation's busiest fire department would've had the same result."
