A New Way to Fix a Pothole
By Editor Becky Watts

ZEBULON - Velocity Road Solutions, Inc. is a subsidiary of Velocity UK, Ltd based out of England. This Newnan company was contracted to fill in some of the bigger potholes that are on various roads in Pike County. Many potholes on several roads were filled in a short amount of time.

"A few weeks ago we reached out to John Hanson the County Manager and performed a few demonstration repairs so that he and his team could evaluate our service and final product," said CEO Jenson Mathew. "Upon a detailed review we partnered with Pike County working hand in hand as one crew to address major pothole repairs on numerous roads throughout the County over the course of only a few days."

Mathew said that everyone the company has spoken with in the county seems to be pleased with the product. [Note from the Editor: I was pleased to be able to take a series of photo shots of a pothole repair that looks very sturdy and took a short amount of time to fill so the county is being efficient with taxpayer funds and county workers' time. This series of pictures took place in a matter of minutes!]

http://www.velocitypatching.com/the-process/ shows how the emulsion process works. According to the website, this process helps with edge deterioration, sealing and extending the life of worn and conventional repairs, and is a long-term pothole solution that can help extend the life of our roads and be more efficient with our transportation budget.

The photos on this page are taken from the final day of work on Tanyard Road. Step one: Blow the pothole clean of debris. Step two: Fill it with asphalt. Step three: Roll over the new patch with the truck.
