Prayer Warriors Gather to Pray for Pike County Schools

ZEBULON - Prayer Power of Georgia, Inc. sponsored the annual Pike County School Prayer Walk on Saturday August 3, 2013. Participants gathered at the Pre K Building at 9:00 am for the welcome and a group prayer before walking and driving to facilities throughout Zebulon to pray for the schools, students, teachers, and staff.

Organizer Ben Maxedon told participants to this was an effort to bring community awareness through prayer, but asked that prayer warriors please pray for students and leaders every day. He also asked prior to the event for everyone in the community join in prayer even if they did not have children in the Pike County School system and regardless of whether they were able to attend this event or not.

Prayer Power of Georgia, Inc. is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization here in Pike County that prays for anyone in need of prayer, promotes public prayer and programs, provides spiritual support and services upon request, and organizes, plans, presents, and participates in various activities throughout the community. This includes a Prayer Guardians Ministry in which participants pray for community leaders and send cards out once a month to let them know that they are being prayed for in our community.

Prayer Power also awards community members each year with the Prayer Power Faith Award and the Saints in Light Award. The Prayer Power Faith Award is presented to one male AND one female graduating senior from Pike County each year who has shown "spiritual growth and maturity during their high school experience". The Saints in Light Award is awarded annually to someone who has been a "spiritually inspiring, motivating, and encouraging influence in the community, and who openly and with love works for the betterment of the community and the people they come in contact with".
