ZEBULON - There are a number of offices up for re-election this year in Pike County as well as state and national offices. This article will give information for county offices that are open for re-election as well as the qualifying information that is needed for candidates.
Local offices up for re-election include: Magistrate Judge currently held by Marcia Callaway-Ingram, Sheriff currently held by Jimmy Thomas, Probate Judge currently held by Lynn Brandenburg, Clerk of Superior Court currently held by Carolyn Williams, Tax Commissioner currently held by Donna M. Wynn, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners currently held by Doug Mangham, District 3 Commissioner currently held by Tommy Powers, District 4 Commissioner currently held by Don Collins, Coroner currently held by Terrell Moody, Board of Education District 3 currently held by Roger Green, Board of Education District 4 currently held by John L. Wynn, Sr., and Board of Education District 5 currently held by April Byrd.
Qualifying fees are as follows: County Commissioner Chairman $180.00, County Commissioner $162.00, Magistrate Court Judge $1,392.25, Probate Court Judge $1,392.25, Superior Court Clerk $1,392.25, Tax Commissioner $1,392.25, Sheriff $1,616.40, Coroner $234.17, and School Board Member $72.00.
Qualifying will be held at the Pike County Probate Office located in the Courthouse on Wednesday, May 23rd from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday, May 24th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Friday, May 25th from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

Qualifying for statewide offices, state legislative offices, district attorney and federal candidates (both US Senate and US House) will be handled by the Georgia Republican or Georgia Democratic Party depending on which ballot candidates decide to run on.
