State and County Run Off Election Results

ZEBULON - The Run off for Secretary of State and Public Service Commission was held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. According to the Secretary of State's website, here are the unofficial results from Tuesday's election. This also includes the election summary from Pike County.

According to the Secretary of State's website, 1,458,376 ballot were cast across the state in the December 4th election. There are 6,430,661 registered voters in the State of Georgia. This is a voter turnout of 22.68%

State-wide numbers are as follows:

SECRETARY OF STATE:
Brad Raffensperger, Republican, received 756,084 votes and 51.97% of the total vote. John Barrow, Democrat, received 698,849 votes and 48.03% of the vote. Brad Raffensperger is the winner in this race. The AJC reported that John Barrow conceded in this race today.

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION:
Chuck Eaton, (Incumbent), Republican, received 749,872 votes and 51.83% of the vote. Lindy Miller, Democrat, received 697,037 votes and 48.17% of the vote. Chuck Eaton is the winner in this race.

PLEASE NOTE: These totals do not include all absentee and provisional ballots which have until Friday to arrive at their precincts to be counted.

Here in Pike County, 3,486 votes were cast in this run off for a 28.55% voter turn out. There are 12,212 registered voters in Pike County.

In the Secretary of State's race, 2,977 (85.57%) voters cast their votes for Republican Brad Raffensperger and 502 (14.43%) cast their votes for Democrat John Barrow.

In the PSC race, 2,911 (84.30%) cast their votes for Republican Chuck Eaton and 542 (15.70%) voters cast their votes for Democrat Lindy Miller.

There are 11 provisional ballots still out in Pike County that have until Friday to come in and be counted.

Thank you to everyone who came out to vote in Pike County as well as our four candidates for running. Pike County had a better turn out than the state of Georgia as is our normal state of affairs.
