ZEBULON - The Pike County School System held its annual Special Olympics on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Special needs students from the Primary, Elementary, Middle, and High Schools joined together for a day of fun at the track as they did their best in games and race activities.
Students showed their spirit by competing according to The Special Olympic Athlete Oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” They also enjoyed getting their faces painted by Doodle the Clown and jumping in the inflatable.
Many from the community, other students, family and friends supported students before and during the competition. And Kiwanis Club of Pike served lunch to after the event. Thanks to all who supported this event.
