Storm Blows Through Pike County; Causes Minor Damage

ZEBULON - A line of strong storms blew through Pike County earlier today. At this time, the only report of damages that Pike County Times has found is that there are several trees around the Pine Golf Course area and one tree down at Shackelford and Caldwell Roads.

There are some who are without power this afternoon, and crews are working to restore the power.

Emergency Management Agency Director Jimmy Totten advised that there are reports of straight line winds that went through the Hollonville Road and Patton Road Areas. There are some trees down and the winds caused minor structural damage. The photos up top are from the Patton Road area.

Southern Rivers Energy Outages

(from Southern Rivers) This afternoon’s severe storms caused widespread outages across our nine-county service area in Central Georgia. Crews are working a total of 27 outages that at the height of the storm, affected over 2,000 members. Currently, a total of 1,358 members remain without power, the majority of which are in Monroe County with a total of 742. The majority of the damage is from high winds and fallen trees and limbs.

Spalding County

There has also been some damage in Spalding County, but it is fairly minor compared to what Spalding has experienced from past storm systems. Click here for more from The Grip.
