The Peachtree Jazz Edition Is Coming to Thomaston

THOMASTON - The Peachtree Jazz Edition is coming to Thomaston to dazzle you with classic big band era sounds and standards Friday, January 18th at 7 p.m. at Phoenix Rising. Reservations are required and can be made at the TUAC office at 706-647-1605.

Audiences call Peachtree Jazz “A favorite Band” and “A dancer’s Band.” “Peachtree Jazz was the big WOW” and “Words cannot express what a great band this is,” recall some. TUAC invites you to dance and dine January 18th and hear a memorable performance that will highlight your winter calendar.

The Peachtree Jazz Edition began as a small ensemble building a repertoire of classic jazz, often called the music of the roaring twenties. It is now a 17-piece band with outstanding female vocalist Toni Byrd and plays an expanded repertoire of big band tunes from the 30’s and 40’s, including original arrangements recorded by such notable artists as Glen Miller, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, and Bobby Darrin.

Highly acclaimed, the Peachtree Jazz has performed for the annual Gardens of the World Ball sponsored by the University of Georgia Alumni Association, events at the Druid Hills Country Club, the Metro Atlanta Fire Chiefs Ball, the Georgia Police Chief’s Association, the Wings over Dixie Air Show annual Sponsors Ball, the Fox Theatre Egyptian Ballroom, the Georgia Tech Dance Association monthly Swing Dances, the Surgeons’ Association of Georgia Annual Ball, and many others.

Peachtree Jazz Edition is a tightly-honed, sophisticated, crowd-pleasing jazz band that makes a special connection between band and audience. Outstanding vocals by Toni Byrd reveal exemplary technique and feel. The dance will also feature Latin favorites and more contemporary swing tunes.

Dancing, feasting, and listening to incomparable music awaits you at Phoenix Rising Friday, January 18th at 7p.m. Tickets are $20 each and include heavy hors-d’oeuvres. Reservations, even for TUAC season ticket holders, are mandatory as the event is especially catered. Call the TUAC office at 706-647-1605 by Tuesday, January 15th in order to partake of this outstanding event.
