Early Voting Begins on Monday

ZEBULON - Early voting runs from Monday, June 30th through Friday, July 18th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be NO Saturday voting day for the run off. *Please note, if you voted in the Republican or Democratic Primary in May, you are required to vote in the same primary as you voted in May. If you did NOT vote in May, you may choose either ballot when you vote in July.

There is one race on the Democratic ballot. Votes for Alisha Thomas Morgan and Valarie Wilson will determine who will run on the Democratic ticket for State School Superintendent.

There are several races on the Republican ballot. Votes for Mike Buck and Richard Woods will determine who will run on the Republican ticket for State School Superintendent.

Votes will determine whether David Perdue or Jack Kingston will be the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate against Democratic challenger Michelle Nunn in November.

And voters will determine whether M.H. Marty Harbin or David J. Studdard will begin serving as the State Senate District 16 representative in January.

Voters need to bring a photo I.D. with them to the Pike County Courthouse in order to early vote. Early voting takes place in the hallway outside of the Voter Registrar's Office.

Early voting runs from Monday, June 30th through Friday, July 18th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no Saturday voting for this run off and there is no voting on Monday, July 21st. Election Day will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The decisions made by our elected local, state, and national representatives affect all of us whether we want to acknowledge that or not. Get educated and make your voice count!
