Participants Graduate from Parenting Class

West Central Integrated Treatment Facility helped nine women reach a goal that they set for themselves. These women participated in a ten week parenting class taught by Rev. Joann Byrd. Ann Marie Marshall, Shalena Bowles, Rebekah Mount, Patricia Pilgrim, Kristy Willoughby, and Diana Purcell were in this graduating class.

Rev. Byrd taught from the New Life Behavior Ministries curriculum during this class. West Central Integrated Treatment Facility is the only facility in the state that has this license, said Warden Edd Sanders.

The goal of the New Life Behavior Ministries curriculum is to help each woman reconnect with her children and learn improved parenting skills. It can also fulfill requirements needed for reunification.

Warden Sanders said that it is not costing the taxpayers anything for participants to take this 10 week program that could easily cost several hundred dollars for each person enrolled outside of the facility.

Congratulations to these women on this accomplishment and thank you to Rev. Byrd, Warden Edd Sanders, and the West Central Integrated Treatment Facility for the work that is being done to help these ladies reintegrate back with their families and into their communities upon their release.
