American Legion Post 197 Walk/Run to Be Held on August 26th

WILLIAMSON - The Pike County American Legion Post 197 5K/10K Run/Walk for Veterans to be held in and around Williamson on August 26, 2017. The Huey Helicopter should be on display for the event. The Run/Walk T-shirt design features the Williamson Huey Helicopter. This is the fifth and last Run/Walk on the Pike County Circuit. In February of 2018, we will start all over with a greatly modified (having learned from experience) Zebulon 5K/10K.

The start of the run/walk window will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon because of the heat. Cold water will be at the rest area and registration area as well as with our roving EMT vehicle. There are paved roads, grassy lanes, and a short trail. One area on Watering Hole Pass which is on the 10K does have some short hills which will add to your workout. Most of you will enjoy the courses through the City of Williamson, Ashley Glen Development, and the beautiful Eagles Landing. This can be a family event or an individual healthy workout.

We continue the “In Memory Of Veteran" program that we began at the Molena Run/Walk. For a donation of $50, you get the name of a deceased Veteran printed on the T-shirt. For $60, you get the name listed and a T-shirt. If you register for the Run/Walk, it would be just $50, since you get a T-shirt with your registration.
