ZEBULON - The Pike County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call at 5:08 p.m. last night about a wreck involving two vehicles on Highway 19 just inside of the Pike and Spalding County line.
Pike County resident Christopher Polk was driving a Ford F150 truck, and Linwood Martin, also a Pike County resident, was driving a red Chevrolet S10. Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Highway 19 when the driver of the F150 truck reported that the sun was in his eyes and and he lost sight of the S10 that was in front of him.
The Ford F150 rear-ended the Chevy S10 that was traveling in front of him. The driver of the S10 reported that his foot got caught on the accelerator after he was rear-ended. The S10 overturned as a result of the accident.
Emergency response ended with both occupants being transported to Spalding Regional Hospital.
