Two Wrecks Occurred in Pike County Last Week

ZEBULON - Pike County Times was contacted about two wrecks that occurred last week. The first occurred at Hwy 109 East and Hwy 19 South in Meansville and the other occurred at Reidsboro Road near Midway Road in Williamson.

Meansville Wreck

The wreck on Hwy 19 at Hwy 109 East had law enforcement redirecting traffic around the area of the wreck. Three vehicles were involved in this wreck that occurred on November 14 around 3:40 p.m.

Vehicle 1 was a Dodge Charger driven by Darrin Braddy (born 1989). Braddy sustained no injuries.

Vehicle 2 was a Hyundai Accent driven by Jaylin Milford (born 2007) who was transported to Upson Regional by ambulance. Passenger in the vehicle was Layla McDaniel (born 2010) who was transported to Upson Regional by ambulance.

Vehicle 3 was a Kia Soul driven by Wiley Long (born 1962). According to the accident report, Long sustained no injuries from the wreck. However, passenger Martha Long (born 1962) was transported by ambulance to Upson Regional.

According to the police report, the Kia Soul (Vehicle 3) was traveling south on Hwy 19 South. The Hyundai Accent (Vehicle 2) was traveling north on Hwy 19 South.

The Dodge Charger (Vehicle 1) was turning left off of Hwy 109 East to travel south on Hwy 19 South when he struck the right rear side of the Hyundai Accent (Vehicle 2). The Hyundai Accent spun approximately 90 degrees stopping partially in the turn lane and partially in the left southbound land of Hwy 19 south facing eastbound. The Kia Soul (Vehicle 3) struck the left rear side of Vehicle 2 causing Vehicle 2 to spin approximately 90 degrees landing in the turn lane facing northbound.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was charged with failure to yield.

Williamson Wreck

On November 15 around 6:54 a.m. a utility truck pulling a trailer appeared to overcorrect and roll over. One person was transported by ambulance to Spalding.

The wreck occurred on Reidsboro Road near Midway Road.
