ZEBULON - Members present were John Edwards, Stuart Essary, Dee McLeRoy, Joe Walter, Director Kyle Fletcher, Kell Brannon, Bryan Oglesby, David Nix, John Barker, Commission Chairman Briar Johnson, Shane Williamson, CM Brandon Rogers.
Walked through the financials. Motion to approve the financials. Approved.
Old Business. Discussion of the 238 acres purchased by the county.
RFQ sent out for the Master Plan. March 13 will be the presentations for the BOC. 5 or 6 companies have showed interest. BOC set up a 5 member committee to discuss what is going on and to make sure that this doesn’t stall out. Kyle is the rep from this board. Jason Proctor, Sheriff Thomas, CM Rogers, Kyle Fletcher, and Chairman Briar Johnson will be on this board.
Joe Walter. Time frame for selections for the firm on this? Rogers. It needs to be quickly. Johnson. There will be other people in the meeting from the City of Zebulon, Public Works, etc. to attend at these meetings so it won’t just be 5 people.
Metal Fabricators. This is a vote on whether to sell 3.20 acres. He lives here and wants to relocate his business here from Atlanta. No competition with Southside Steel. He wants the parcel next to the concrete company. He is going to build it here a little at time. $45,300. Motion to negotiate this sale. Approved.
6b. Discussion on whether to vote on another lot. Consensus to table at this time.
7a. New Business
Motion that Stuart Essary remains treasurer, Kyle Fletcher is secretary, and Kell Brannon as the chairman, Bryan Oglesby as Vice-Chair.
Slate of officers remain the same. Those who were on the slate abstained. Approved.
Additional Comments. Joe Walter. Southern Rivers and Conexon had a meeting with the City of Zebulon about fiber in the city. They were making sure that the City had enough traffic.
Someone had asked for some speed bumps in the Business Park because of the amount of traffic. Joe Walter said that there is a process to do this because it is a city street. Maybe cut back the right of way really well too.
