BREAKING NEWS: 2020 Local Election and Voting Information

ZEBULON - 2020 is going to be a big election year with the Presidential Primary and Election occurring as well as local, non-partisan, state, and federal elections. As of Thursday afternoon, 168 people had early voted on the new voting machines.

Here is list of qualifying fees and local offices that will be on the ballot this year.

Here is a list of the local county and school offices that will be on the ballot in 2020 as well as the current office holders.

Pike County Elected Offices

Commission-Chairman will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held by Briar Johnson. The qualifying fee is $180 which is 3% of the $6,000 Base Salary.

Briar Johnson, Incumbent, has qualified for this seat. Chairman Johnson will enter this seat with no opposition in January.


*CONTESTED* Commission District 3 will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held Jason Proctor who won this special election in November of 2019. The qualifying fee is $162 which is 3% of the $5,400 Base Salary.

Jason Proctor, Incumbent, has qualified for this seat. He is being challenged by Homer Gibbins, Jr.

Sheriff will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held by Jimmy Thomas. The qualifying fee is $1,616.40 which is 3% of the $53,880.12 Base Salary.

Coroner will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held by Terrell Moody. The qualifying fee is $298.54 which is 3% of the $9,951.43 Base Salary.

Board of Education

Board of Education District 3 will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held by Emily O’Steen. The qualifying fee is $72. The Base Salary is $100 per meeting up to 3 meetings per month.

Emily O'Steen, Incumbent, has qualified for this seat.


*CONTESTED* Board of Education District 4 will be on the ballot. This seat is currently held by Beth Camp. The qualifying fee is $72. The Base Salary is $100 per meeting up to 3 meetings per month.

Marcie Bradberry and Chris Childress have both qualified for this seat. Incumbent Beth Camp is running for the State House Representative 131 since Incumbent Ken Pullin has given notification that he is not running for re-election.
